Default BMC diffs,motors,gearboxes,sprite,midget,morris,austin

Lots of MORRIS MINOR PARTS of all types [panels, mechanicals, etc] available as now out of Morries and into Triumphs. 0417 062 584
Have joined this site to talk about buchanan cobras so figure some of you may be interested in my BMC stuff i am getting out of to head down the triumph path. 30 years of Morris Minor owning has accumulated many sprite/midget mechanicals. Diffs, axels, gearboxes, motors, carbies,as parts are sold will edit post [as I have today]. So all should be current within a day or two.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............

diff housing and front end out of this wolseley 1560,and various manifolds, carbies, shocks from Morris major, Austin lancer and wolseley 1500 range, morris major parts, much morris stuff,
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..........

1 1/8" TWIN CARBIES A series series 2 type carbies] on aftermarket alloy manifold [warneford i think] with correct hexshape carby bolt on shape...must have been a long throw manifold with length reduced down to fit mini [ie short throw now]..this might suit those wanting to build a Sports 80 lookalike convertible although I dont know what type of twin manifold it uses.I am positive this manifold is not from a sports 80 but will suffice for a fun replacement. . $250

TWIN MANIFOLD A series to suit Motor bike carbies or maybe the rare Fish carbies [I really dont know]
what is differrent about this is it is a custom made manifold with the carby flange mounted sideways...hence its possible use with motorbike carbies or i think fish carbies, as they I think can be mounted straight up an down like an SU or sideaways like this,,,very interestig manifold...$100

WEBER downdraft manifold A series handmade manifiold...looks more handmade than custom made, fits downdraft carby or even some of the jap carbies seem to have similar base.....$50

Alloy Tappet cover A series, rare type with the words sports in center and the raised fins. Unsure of its origin but it may be nice to use on a Morris Minor Sports 80 convertible lookalike or sprite or mini sports 850 etc......$150 It looks so much better than the standard alloy tappet cover that is generally available now.

Chrome Tappet Cover [could this be a Morris minor Sports 80 cover?] with Sports manufacter tag on it $150....the tag is in perfect condition but the cover's chrome has rust coming thru..I was going to use it on a Morris minor Sports 80 lookalike convertible with the small twins advertised above. When you see the tag you will at least appreciate its pedigree.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...............

BUG EYE SPRITE NOS MOTOR NOS never used, unstamped replacement block, crank and pistons for a bugeye sprite, morris 1000, austin A30, A40 Farina,etc....If your bugeye motor is genuine matching number to your body but has a hole in the side..then you need a new old stock motor to replace it.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...............

A series MG Midget,Austin Healey Sprite, Morris Minor, Austin A30, Austin A40 Farina, etc

1098 engine thick backing plate, flywheel and large clutch pressure plate, to convert your 1000 engined cars over to the baulkring gearboxes ...ie its easier to replace all the associated parts over than to stuff around with fitting to the small clutch setup on the 1000...you will also end up with a stonger clutch setup too. it simply bolts on in place of the original..remember the front shaft length on the baulkring gearbox is different and the thicker 1098 backing plate takes this into account...where the thinner pressed 1000 backing plate doesnt.

1000cc Morris Minor motors [948 cc], [basically a detuned sprite 1000] complete with all ancilleries plus matching gearbox

1000cc rebuilt Morris Minor motor, rebuilt still to be assembled, [crank and rods/pistons installed] with all ancilleries but no sump [i think, use yours] with secondhand gearbox

Morris 1000 and mk1 Sprite gearboxes have hydraulic clutch cylinder location [ratios unknown], plus Morris Minor Series 2 gearboxes [does not have hydraulic location], and dissasembled parts too for both models [not baulkring]

Flywheels.......standard flywheels and clutches.

diffs ratios 4.55 coarse spline, and some of the 5.3 as well.

Axels, coarse and fine spline morris minor and morris major, [both same length]

Morris Minor diff housings and springs, and front axels [steering swivel pins, ie suspension uprights]

6 Austin A30 rims. [these will fit bug eye, but width is slighly skinnier]

Swap...I am looking for a Triumph Herald scuttle and/or rear floor in good condition to fit into my Bond equipe
Also looking for standard 10 seats in good condition or recoverable for my Buchanan cobra
And particularly looking for a 30,s 40,s or 50,s American Panel Van as everyday transport.

Sell or Swap
Skoda Octavia and Combi wagens and maybe my Felicia Convertibles , morris minor heaps of spares for sidvalve sedans, and parts for vans and utes etc for sale or more happily swap for micro cars, fibreglas sportscar [prefer production cars.] and some rare English production hovercrafts.

SELL OR SWAP but prefer part exchange for a midi sound module, PA speakers , amplifier, Casio Privia piano or Casio CDP 100 piano or similar lightweight 88 note digital piano, and any old synthesizers.
Also interested in Vintage Cars, british, american, european the older the better.Original or hot rod. cash either way.

0417 062 584 Rusty, located Sydney western suburbs. if from Interstate you have no inter Sydney traffic problems, direct link between hume highway and pennant hills road for interstate travellors.[ie Cumberland Highway] Cheap motel next door for overnighters. So basically little traffic problems and still 3/4 of an hour outside Sydney proper.Even I dont like driving into Sydney proper.

Default 997 cc long stroke Morris Cooper powerplant ... complete for sale.

I have a "rare as rocking horse ....) long stroke 997 Morris Cooper complete engine/g'box incl original carbs, starter etc ... everything and I bought it in 1982 (with the car that has been 1310 cc for yonks.) Been sitting around as a static display (all nicely painted and gleaming) but suggest a quick rebuild would be necessay before using it as I seem to remember it has done approx 70,000 MILES all at 6000 RPM no doubt so naturally no condition guarantees offered or implied. Also have Cooper drive shafts/brakes etc ... terrible gear but necessary for originality. All this also listed in Forum on my site but I thought you (or someone may be interested?)

rob why would i be interested?..
I am afraid I am trying to get out of BMC stuff as my listing suggests.Maybe my long winded description didnt emphesize this...? so here goes... I am getting out of BMC...tee hee.

I suggest you are better to list your own thread on here of what you have for sale as yours is an east west motor "is it not" and i am selling only north south motor stuff...if you head your thread with a fitting description you will find people who are after said east west mini stuff.cheers...

Default East West Motor Salesman

BC ... your long text got a bit boring so I decided to take a little leaf out of the "commercial cookbook" and further add some exposure to my own advt by addressing your advert via this medium hoping that you are a nice guy and should you get any enquiries about E/W motors you might direct them to me ... my mistake?

Seems however you are a tiny bit childish and not I suggest a potential "world leader" so I wish you well in your endevours and no malice is suggested ... just keep pointing North/South.

Regards

RT

hi rob...thanks for keeping my advert current..

funny how the written word is difficult to indicate facial inflections but i thought perhaps by putting a "tee hee" in my text would indicate a tongue in cheek reply...guess it didnt.[even a shocked smiley didnt indicate a laugh at someone [ie.me] deciding to get out of BMC?]

And being that often there is a distinct chasm between those who love north/south and those who love east/west my suggestion was infact not "childish " but perhaps suggest that you give yourself a clean advert that would get noticed long before it is noticed on my thread..thought that helpful, as you would definately get more interest.

I dont understand how you could take offence to what i said...when my reply was indeed in your own interest.

after trying to be helpful I get shot down like this...geeze...tee hee...[indicates again a tongue in cheek reply, indicating I am not insulted but rather bemused or perhaps even confused]

fortunately I have no endeavours to be a world leader as they are already "stuffing it" without me, but calling me childish and suggesting no malice does not perhaps...gel.

Still its been fun to correspond...

by the way Rob, would it be better to keep the motor with your car,...because having the original motor with the car is becoming a rare thing now...[I have assumed it was original motor]...Many people seem to seek out those cars with original motors...of coarse if it isnt matching numbers then this is a moot point...but if it is the original motor it would be a shame to separate it...?

Infact I wasnt expecting any correspondence on this thread, just private emails...so I wasnt expecting cross advertising...so was a little surprised being it didnt really help yourself that much where your own little advert would...

anyway good luck with your gear too...its always good when gaps appear...but I am trying not to refill them if possible due to health circumstance.Although swapping all for one vehicle can clean out a whole yard for only one vehicle...much less messy.
cheers russell.

ps. Rob ,,

I would be very happy to pass on your information about your east/west motor to anyone who inquires, as I will for your other gear also...although I know little about about that, just BMC and micro cars.

None of this clashes with my gear anyway, so I never saw your message as a conflict of interests, and although I rarely get any inquiries for mini stuff, I do meet a lot of mini guys at swap meets and such...so will pass on your information.

see ya'
