Cool Dinner and cruise on a murray river boat

That time of year has rolled around again and we are approaching the Mid Year Souree period. Previously known as Christmas in July

This year I plan on having dinner on a Murray River Paddle Boat from Echuca on the weekend of the 15th and 16th of June
The plan is::

To meet at 10.30am on Saturday the 15th of June 2013 at the HEATHCOTE Cellar and Store for morning coffee and cake (s) and a look around at their expansive wine list. This will allow everybody to arrive before setting off for The Port of Echuca aproximately 100km. up the highway.

Once at Echuca you will be free to arrange your own lunch at one of the several good pubs, cafes and sandwich shops dotted around the Port area.

We can take up residence at our accommodation at the Comfort Resort at 54 to 56 meninya Street Moama (03 5482 3311) from about 2pm. Feel free to remain at the Echuca Town and Port as long as you like, before heading out to the resort.

Cost for the Bed and Breakfast is $136.00 per double or $120.00 per single.
The resort is set on 3 acres of bushland and boasts great accomodation and facilities like a conference room, bar, several restaurants, spa and swimming pools.

At about 5.45pm we board a bus from Newtons Bus Service at the cost of around $10.00 per head, from the Resort to be transported to the Echuca Port area where at about 6.15pm we will board the Paddle Ship the 'Pride of the Murray' for a 2- 1/2 hour river cruise and two course dinner on board.

The paddle boat is of the diesel varity and has ample accommodation inside and under cover in the case if inclimate weather. You will also have the opportunity to spend time in the open on the decks of the boat.

The menu can be downloaded from their web site

The cost of the voyage is $75.00 per head with drinks at 'bar prices'

At the conclusion of dinner and the cruise we will return to the Port at about 9pm and board the bus back to the resort.

You may want to stay in town at this stage and sample several cool beverages at one of the local pubs and return to the Resort under your own steam at what ever time you may deem appropriate.

The next morning a full cooked breakfast will be served in the dining room at the Resort after which you may want to return to whence you came OR repair back to the Port of Echuca for sight seeing and lunch before returning home.

The Port boasts several attractions the like of,

The National Holden Motor Museum at 7-11 Warren Street Echuca a must for any aging petrol head.

The Great Aussie Beer Shed ran by Neil (Tidy) Thomas, a retired Walloper from Melbourne who for the princley sum of $12.00 will offer you a guided tour of his shed full of Aussie memrabilia and lots and lots of beef stuff, can collection etc. a must for any old pi%% pot to see. AND for an extra $13.00 Neil will cook you a spit roast and salad for lunch within the Beer Shed.

You could also visit Sharps Movie house and Penny Arcade a must for any film buffs.

You could take a ride on the Billabong Horse and Carriage Rides around the Town and Port area a must for any tired pedestrians.

After a leasurely lunch you may wish to make your way back home again and reflect on another great weekend away with the Thrill Seekers from the V.H.R.R.

We can accommodate about 40 people give or take a few and single accommodation is also offered.

I would like you to book early and produce a $50.00 deposit per couple so that I can firm up the reservations and pay a number of deposits.

So lets get aboard this little venture and come to Echuca and enjoy yourselves.

We already have 8 bookings so get in early and do not miss out.

Looking forward to seeing a whole bunch of people enjoy themselves.

For booking or further information coltact me on.
